A trip to Sydney is definitely not complete without visiting Taronga Zoo! ELC students will go there together for the day in March to see the Australian wildlife and the incredible views of Sydney. There are over 4000 animals to see at the zoo and more than 20 entertaining keeper talks. You can even get up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas! For students the entry to the zoo is only $30.
Surf Camp is the ultimate weekend getaway in Sydney! With 2 days of surf lessons and fun at 7 Mile Beach, it's a great chance for students to have a go at surfing while they are in Australia! For more information and to book, students can go to the Travel Desk on Level 1.

With one of the best views of Sydney, the Sydney Tower is a must-visit attraction in the centre of the city! This will be the English Extras excursion on Wednesday at 3.15pm. With a group discount, the price for students is $20.

It's every visitor's dream to see a show at the iconic Sydney Opera House! This is our student's chance for this month. Turandot is a classic production presented by Opera Australia and is a great taster for those new to opera.

For the English Extras excursion at 3.15pm students will visit the Australian Museum near Hyde Park. The museum is the oldest in Australia and is well-known in the fields of natural history, anthropology and Indigenous exhibitions. Entry for students is just $6.

On this day, students will explore the beautiful area of Manly! There will also be an inflatable boat race held on this day which should be hilarious to watch. The race involves participants armed with colourful inflatables paddling for about one kilometre off the famous Shelly Beach.

This is a free English Extras excursion leaving at 3.15pm from ELC. The Museum of Contemporary Art is located in Circular Quay and the collection includes over 4000 modern pieces from Australian artists. There is also some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artwork which is great for international visitors to see.

Newtown is a very colourful and creative suburb to visit. It's very unique and is popular with Sydney locals. Together with an ELC staff member, students will explore the street art galleries, the famous King Street and the eclectic shops and cafes. The trip is free for students, but it's wise to bring some money for a pastry or a drink!

For the English Extras excursion on this day, students will visit the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, very close to ELC. The main exhibitions at the Maritime Museum display aspects of Indigenous culture, European exploration, immigration, leisure, defence and more. Entry is free and students will meet at ELC at 3.15pm.

Ultimate Oz will take students on a day trip to the stunning Figure 8 Pools in the Royal National Park. This is a great chance to get away from the hustle and bustle for a day and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Sydney and its surrounds has to offer. Students can book this trip at our Travel Desk located on Level 1 near the student lounge area.
