Junior Program – English + Football

Most afternoons, Monday to Friday, you will join a 90-minute training session specifically designed for ELC students. The sessions will take place at Sky Park, Sydney FC’s state-of-the-art training facilities and headquarters. Dedicated ELC staff will lead your group there, supervising all students on public transport, during the session, as well as back to school.

Your football training will be delivered by professional Sydney FC coaches. The sessions will be fun and engaging, allowing participants of all abilities to join and develop or improve their football skills.

You will also have a 2-hour coaching session on Sunday 02 August.

This package includes a bespoke Sydney FC training kit for you to keep. This includes the jersey, shorts and socks. Make sure to bring your own football shoes, as well as minimum 3 other exercise outfits so that you can have a clean one for each training session.

One afternoon, instead of a training session, you will head to the Allianz Stadium for a guided tour. This is an amazing opportunity to see the behind-the-scenes of this iconic stadium at a quiet time.

On Sunday 2 August, you will get to join a 2-hour football workshop at Sky Park, learning technical football terms as well as discuss some football techniques and strategies

You will get to cheer one of the professional Sydney FC teams on at an international friendly game. ELC will organise leaders with a maximum ratio of 6 students per leader to ensure everyone’s safety on this busy night.

We make sure to look to after every aspect of our Package G – Football Globetrotter students, all along their stay in Sydney, including providing airport transfer both ways.

Arrival: Upon arrival at Sydney airport, our driver will pick you up and take you to your homestay, making sure you meet your host.

Departure: On return, our driver will pick you up from your homestay, drive you to the airport and drop you off at the departure terminal express drop-off bay, just outside your airline counters.

If you are travelling by yourself and need accommodation, enrol into Package G – Football Globetrotter and we will organize your accommodation with a caring homestay family. This is a great way to experience the joy of cultural exchange and improve your English further by speaking with your host family every day.

You will be accommodated in your own single room, and will share your host’s daily life in the evenings and during your free time on the weekends. Your host will provide your breakfast and dinner every day, as well as lunch on the weekends. You will be able to buy your own lunch close to school, or you might choose to ask for lunch packs to be prepared for you by your host family (See “Optional Extras”)

To limit the time spent on commute overall during the day, ELC will arrange homestay placements close to Sky Park, Sydney FC’s coaching venue, and personal afternoon drop offs will be arranged after the coaching session.

This however means that the commute to school in the morning may be longer than average, typically 45-75 minutes. You may refer to this schedule to better visualise the plan for commute on public transport vs the Sky Park to homestay direct trips that will be organised just for you.

Upon your arrival at your homestay or on your first school day, your host will help you get your transport card and show you the way to school.

After football training, a member of your host family or a dedicate ELC driver will pick you up from the training centre and take you straight to your homestay. This personal drive home should only take 5 to 20min.

Students on our Globetrotter package will be well-looked after all along their stay: In addition to the care and support from the ELC team of teachers and student services staff at school, as well as the care and guidance from their homestay family, each student on the Globetrotter program will be assigned a dedicated local guardian for the duration of their enrolment In case of illness, personal issues or emergency, this appointed caregiver will be able to step in and assist 24/7.

This service offers an extra layer of reassurance and comfort for both parents and students and is included for all students taking part in our Globetrotter program, covering them from the moment they arrive to the moment they depart.
